I finally pried my friend’s ‘94 Buick Roadmaster wagon away from him for the princely sum of $1700! More details to come tomorrow, but I love this stupid thing!!

Nice score! Sure hope it’s an LT1.

With the wood grain decals and everything! Nice score! Look forward to reading about it.

It does! Wouldn’t have bought it if it didn’t have the LT-1.

I had no doubt that it would happen.
Congrats!

OH MY GOD I love those. My dad inherited one with only like 3000 miles from my moms uncle after he died. We drove it for a while, then gave it to my moms sister (aunt) she still has it. Its so awesome. Its like driving a large yacht on land, a very fast and torquey one though. The 5.7 ltr v8 is super powerful. Just a great car. What car has a bench seat in the front nowadays? awesome car

Smokin’ deal. I passed up on one that just had too much structural rust this summer for $2k.

UGH, the jealously is REAL. Nice score. Enjoy the LT1 and wagon goodness. .
![]() 10/16/2015 at 00:06 |

This one had a rust hole in the passenger side B-pillar, and I was going to pass on it, but my friend had it repaired. I still need to patch the spare tire well.

Thank you. I will! I already took a very spirited trip to get milk. Tomorrow I’m taking it on a 125 mile trip.

Sweet. And your wife will finally let your kids ride in the sweet car I hope?
![]() 10/16/2015 at 00:26 |

Nice. I miss my Caprice that had the LT1.
![]() 10/16/2015 at 00:29 |

I’ve always wanted one. This is a definite bucket list car for me.

Corvette motor? Corvette motor.
![]() 10/16/2015 at 01:36 |

what was the other v8 they had? it was a smaller crappier v8.
![]() 10/16/2015 at 01:37 |
|
so sweeet. when do the mods begin? heads cam swap? lt4 intake?
![]() 10/16/2015 at 02:00 |
|
lucky fuckin’ bastard. I’d trade all three of my cars for a Roadmaster wagon.
Still don’t like the LT1 though. LO5 for life.

ewwwwwww.
fake wood.

Nice and peely too!

Yes. Although she HATES it. She thinks it’s hideous, cannot understand why I like it, and is shocked that there are other people like me who also like it. But it’s safe, so they can ride in it :D
![]() 10/16/2015 at 06:10 |

They had a 4.3 liter baby LT-1 V8. My understanding is that they only put those in Caprices, and Roadmaster wagons all had the real deal 5.7 LT-1 from ‘94-’96.
![]() 10/16/2015 at 06:11 |

burn it!
seriously!
![]() 10/16/2015 at 06:11 |
|
Which one is the LO5?
![]() 10/16/2015 at 06:14 |
|
I probably won’t do a ton of mods to it. I need to get the AC working by next spring, replace the shocks, and replace the left rear window regulater. I want to rallycross this beast, so perhaps some suspension tweaks will be in order as well.
![]() 10/16/2015 at 06:15 |

Yep! :D

Have fun with it!

That would be pretty amazing!
![]() 10/16/2015 at 09:29 |

I will! Just wrapped up a 125 mile drive to a conference I’m attending today. What a great cruiser!

Ha! Thanks :)
![]() 10/16/2015 at 09:30 |

We’ll be hitting up some races in this bad boy!
![]() 10/16/2015 at 09:45 |

The 5.7L used up to 1993. 180HP, 300lb/ft. of torque. The LT1 is 260HP, 330lb/ft. of torque. To make 80 more horsepower means that the LT1 gets worse fuel economy.
![]() 10/16/2015 at 10:47 |
|
![]() 10/16/2015 at 12:56 |
|
I see. I’m not concerned about fuel economy in the least.
![]() 10/16/2015 at 13:31 |
|
Also the LT1 uses the OptiSpark, which sucks.
![]() 10/16/2015 at 13:39 |

rally cross? are you crazy!?

And I just spotted THIS and THIS is super cool!
![]() 10/21/2015 at 16:34 |

Thanks! Mine has a bit more rust, but I am loving it :)
![]() 10/21/2015 at 23:23 |
|
There isn’t a car in the world that suits your user name more than this.
![]() 10/21/2015 at 23:26 |
|
I would have to agree with you :)
I still need to take some decent pictures and do a detailed post about it. Today I learned that it has the towing package. Which means it’s rated to tow 7,000 pounds! That’s more than my Sierra is rated for.
![]() 10/21/2015 at 23:46 |

Awesome. I once found a pic of a Roadmaster hauling, a Roadmaster drag car on a race trailer with tires, and tools, and a BBQ. It was awesome.
![]() 10/22/2015 at 07:06 |
|
That would be sweet!

Thank you! I really love this car. Although don’t be too jelly, it’s up on jackstands right now because it popped a brake line yesterday ... D'oh!
